SUBLETTE COUNTY – The Wyoming Transportation Commission approved the 2018 State Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) that includes projects in and around Sublette County for 2018.
Three Wyoming Department of Transportation “transportation improvement” projects for this year include two community development grants for bicycle/ pedestrian pathways at various Pinedale locations and Big Piney Drive where it meets Highway 350.
The third project is 7.9 miles of pavement rehabilitation on Highway 189 from just south of Daniel to Cottonwood Creek Road.
“Transit” projects are slated for Rendezvous Pointe in Pinedale and the Southwest Sublette Pioneers Senior Center in Marbleton, and “aeronautics” projects include design and reconstruction of the Pinedale Airport’s general aviation apron and Big Piney Airport’s upgrade to its runway electrical system.
Sublette County’s STIP for 2019 shows 8.7 miles of pavement rehabilitation on Highway 191 from Daniel Junction south toward the Hoback Rim, Pinedale Airport’s continued apron and runway projects plus a building and Big Piney Airport’s new helipads.
The STIP lists statewide highway, bridge, transit and airport projects by county for the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s upcoming fiscal year that began Oct. 1.
Sublette County falls into WYDOT’s Highway District 3 that also oversees Teton, Lincoln and Uinta and Sweetwater counties and is in the Aeronautics Commission’s District 2, with Carbon County added.
