Visiting artists work with preschool children

Big Piney students at the Children’s Learning Center work together on a project that will be auctioned at an upcoming fundraiser in April.

Bringing art to children

is part of a new program for the Children’s

Learning Center.

Each month a different artist with visit

the two schools.

David Klarén worked with the children

in both Big Piney and Pinedale in January.

Painter Mae Orm will be the artist is residence

for February. Tillie Bennett will be

in the Pinedale site in March, and Lisanne

Fear will be in the Big Piney site for March

as well.

Following the workshops with the children,

the work will be turned into a fundraiser. The

“Children’s Art Auction & Gala” is scheduled

for April 5.

The unique pieces created

by the children will be auctioned

off that evening. The

gala will include a live and silent

auction, food, drinks and

music for dancing. All funds

raised will directly benefit the

Children’s Learning Centers

in Big Piney and Pinedale.

Since 1977, Children’s

Learning Center has provided

early childhood education in

Sublette County. The school

provides therapy and special

education services for children

birth to five years as well

as preschool programs for all

children 3 through 5 years

old. During 2018 in Sublette

County the school served a

total of 103 children. Of those, 81 have special

needs.
