SCUF responds to house fire in Barger

SUBLETTE COUNTY – A structure blaze last Wednesday, June 8, affected one person who was helped afterward by Red Cross of Wyoming.

The fire, on Cheyenne Trail in the Barger Subdivision, was reported at 10:12 p.m. and Sublette County Unified Fire responded shortly after to find the home consumed with flames.

“Upon arrival, firefighters reported a fully evolved structure fire with smoke and flame showing. Resources from Battalions 1, 2, 4 and 5 were requested to assist with suppression efforts,” said SCUF Chief Shad Cooper. “Volunteer firefighters remained on scene until approximately 5:00 the following morning.”

The Wyoming State Fire Marshal’s Office sent an investigator to help determine the cause, which was not determined as of Monday, Cooper said.

“SCUF would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office and Sublette County EMS for their assistance during this incident,” he said.
