A 28-year-old man reported missing last week was
located Saturday, June 1, in Bondurant and is back with his family.
Anthony Stephen Jones, of Pinedale, was last seen on Monday, May 27, driving
a white 2007 Toyota pickup truck with damage on the driver’s side mirror and door,
according to Sublette County Public Information Officer Sgt. Travis Bingham, who
posted a “missing person” flyer that was shared more than 500 times.
“Anthony Jones was found earlier this afternoon near Bondurant after receiving
a call from a citizen who located his truck,” Bingham reported. “He is safe and
headed back to his family in Pinedale. Thank for you to everyone who shared the
poster and kept an eye out!”
It was believed Jones was likely heading to Bend, Ore., to start a job on Tuesday
but never arrived. More than 24 hours must pass before a person can be declared
“missing,” which the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office did the next day..
Bingham had said last week, “He is an adult but more investigation is ongoing
into the circumstances and likely route or why he lost contact, but since there has
been no contact in over 48 hours, we put it out.”
Deputies had tried “pinging” his phone and “using other investigative tools to
track him” without luck last week.
No further information was available at press time Monday.
