SUBLETTE COUNTY – Vicky Marshall, the director of nursing for the Sublette County Rural Health Care District, has been awarded the 2021 DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award by the Green River Valley Health Foundation.
The DAISY Award is a 12-year-old international honor bestowed upon a nurse who is recognized by her peers, as well as community, for exemplary care.
Marshall was described as the clinic’s “jack-of-all-trades” and a “team player” with “patient care” as her first priority by an individual in a written nomination. Marshall’s retained her position as trauma coordinator and continues to work with the clinical EMS staff.
Marshall also volunteers during the Casting for Recovery fly-fishing event to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer survivors. She also travels outside Sublette County to camp and counsel women recovering from breast cancer treatment.
“Marshall is a champion for women’s health and recovery,” one nominator wrote.
Other nominators mentioned her compassion and multiple certifications – pediatric advanced life support, basic life support and advanced cardiac life support – that allow her to provide medical help outside the clinic.
