Marbleton Catfish Fry

The annual Marbleton Catfish Fry on Saturday, June 17, brought 540 hungry diners into the Marbleton-Big Piney Fire Hall to benefit Sublette County Unified Fire’s volunteer funds. “We enjoy putting on the catfish fry each year,” said battalion chief Mike Petty. “It’s a way of serving our community and an opportunity for fire safety education, recruiting and fundraising. All donations go into the Volunteer Support Fund for SCUF. The fund is used for firefighter needs outside of the normal budgetary process – not used for operational needs but things like putting on the catfish fry, firefighter financial assistance, the end of year banquet, etc. The fire chiefs from each battalion vote on expenditures out of the fund so it can be used by all battalions.”
