Local man is still missing

A 28-year-old man last seen on Monday,

May 27, was reported missing Wednesday by the Sublette

County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony Stephen Jones, of Pinedale, was last seen driving a

white 2007 Toyota pickup truck with damage on the driver’s side

mirror and door, according to Sublette County Public Information

Officer Sgt. Travis Bingham, who posted a “missing person” flyer.

Jones and his parents live in Pinedale; Jones was likely heading

to Bend, Ore., to start a job on Tuesday but never arrived, he said.

More than 24 hours must pass before a person can be declared

“missing.”

“This is just a ‘welfare check’ at this point,” Bingham said this

week. “He is an adult but more investigation is ongoing into the

circumstances and likely route or why he lost contact, but since

there has been no contact in over 48 hours, we put it out.”

The sheriff’s office Facebook “missing” flyer has been shared

more than 500 times, “so the word is out,” he added.

Bingham said deputies tried “pinging” his phone and “using

other investigative tools to track him” but as of Thursday at press

time, neither Jones nor his vehicle had been found.

Jones was last seen wearing a camo-colored Under Armour

hoodie, khaki-colored pants and a black and brown ball cap. He

is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighs 185 pounds and has blue eyes and

brown hair.

Anyone with information about Anthony Jones’ whereabouts is

asked to call the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office at 307-367-4378.
