Input sought in communication tower project
SUBLETTE COUNTY – Starting May 20, the Bureau of Land Management has begun welcoming public comment concerning proposals submitted by Union Telephone to construct new communication tower(s). This is to ensure the BLM considers and analyzes diverse energy and infrastructure projects on public lands.
The first alternative would construct a new communication tower site located on Cora Butte, 8 miles northwest of Pinedale. Union’s proposal seeks construction using an existing two-track access road to install a buried power line to the site and then constructing a 100-foot by 100-foot site for the installation of a 100-foot-tall communications tower.
A second alternative proposes three communication towers around Daniel called New Fork, Ryegrass and Webb Draw. All of those proposed construction sites would be the same as the Cora Butte site.
