Howard selected to play in 50th annual Shrine Bowl
CASPER – The annual Wyoming Shrine Bowl all-star football game turns 50 this summer and the full rosters for the North and South teams were released by executive director Frank Selby on March 23.
Big Piney High School senior and Puncher football starter Thomas Howard was selected to play for the South Team under the leadership of Star Valley Head Coach McKay Young.
Howard will represent Sublette County at the 50th Wyoming Shrine Bowl. Howard’s team consists of the best football players chosen from among the graduating senior class in programs of all classifications from across southern Wyoming.
Howard received 1A 9-Man All-State and All-Conference honors for the 2022 high-school football season. Howard played guard and fullback on the Big Piney Puncher offensive line and was middle linebacker on defense.
The South and North teams vie for the state title at the 2023 Wyoming Shrine Bowl on June 10 in Harry Geldien Stadium at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper. The event raises funds for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake City.
