SUBLETTE COUNTY – Last week, the Sublette County Libraries’ board called a special meeting to announce that director Sid Stanfill was planning his retirement. The board then selected associate director Sukey Hohl to fill the position beginning March 28.
Stanfill moved to Sublette County from Colorado seven years ago and guided the Pinedale and Big Piney library system through good and lean times. He plans to retire in March.
Hohl received a Master’s in Library Science from the University of California in Berkeley.
She began working at the Pinedale Library as technical services manager in 1997 and joined the Wyoming Library Association the same year.
Hohl, who has been involved in every aspect of the Pinedale Library’s operations, was named associate director in 2010.
“I'm very excited to have this great opportunity,” Hohl said of her appointment. “We have two wonderful libraries here in Sublette County, a great staff and a very supportive library community. Working with Sid these last seven years has been very rewarding and I’m looking forward to what the future will bring as the role of the library continues to develop and change. We will always retain our commitment to excellent collections, programs, services and public spaces.”
A farewell gathering for Stanfill will be held on Friday, March 16, 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Pinedale Library. His friends, coworkers and well-wishers are invited to stop in.
