Grocery give-away

Joy Ufford photo People treat themselves to fresh produce and other groceries Dec. 19 at the Mobile Pantry sponsored by Jonah Energy at Rendezvous Pointe. What was left was given to local kitchens for the elderly, jobless and inmates.

Jonah Energy

sponsored its third local distribution

for 2019 of the Wyoming Food Bank of the

Rockies on Dec. 19 when the Mobile Pantry

pulled up outside Rendezvous Pointe in

Jonah Energy and Rendezvous Pointe

employees set up table after table, trying

to stack dozens of pallets of pasta, crackers,

produce, staples, juices, eggs and fresh

milk as people watched and waited. Beautiful

fresh produce included perfect pineapples,

sweet and chili peppers, grapes,

tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots,

potatoes, onions, zucchini and salad mixes.

Boxes were quickly emptied and tables

covered with rows of pasta and sauce,

snacks, crackers, dry milk, juice, hummus

and more – all offered before the holidays

for anyone needing assistance with groceries.

Some people took enough for several

days or a week or so while others loaded

up for large families and long spells as the

local economy continues to struggle. Many

expressed gratitude.
