Green River Rendezvous preview planned
Harvey Spoonhunter of the Wind River Dancers performs a men’s traditional style dance at the 2022 Green River Rendezvous Days in Pinedale. The dance depicts warriors defending a camp from the enemy or sneaking up on game during a hunt. The Eagle fan and shield Spoonhunter brandishes are to ward off evil spirits or the enemy. The Wind River Dancers travel across the region from the Wind River Reservation to perform customary dances of the indigenous people in the area to share Native American culture and heritage. The Wind River Dancers will perform this year following the Mountain Man Parade on Saturday, July 8 on the stage near Stockman’s on N. Maybell. Six Degrees of Unity and the Pinedale Recreation Board sponsor the ensemble.
