G&F urges proper big game carcass disposal

WYOMING – Wyoming Game and Fish officials issued a reminder to hunters that it is illegal to dump carcasses or refuse on public lands.

For Sublette, Teton and Lincoln counties there are approved disposal facilities in Pinedale, Big Piney/Marbleton, Jackson and Thayne. The Big Piney/Marbleton and Pinedale facilities do not charge a fee to dispose of a carcass as long as there is no additional garbage being disposed.

There are also special rules that apply for the transport and disposal of deer, elk and moose carcasses to prevent the spread of chronic wasting disease.

Additional information can be found on the Wyoming Game and Fish website.
