SUBLETTE COUNTY – On July 4, the fun begins with early risers meeting at the Big Piney High School at 7 a.m. for the Chuckwagon Chug 5K and 10K Run to benefit the Big Piney Booster Club. Boost your energy with the July 4 Pancake Breakfast, 7-9 a.m., at St. John’s Episcopal Church, for a donation. At 9:30 a.m. the Chuckwagon Days parade floats start lining up at EOG Resources and at 10 a.m., the parade will make its run down Budd Avenue in Big Piney with lots of candy!
After the parade is the annual free community barbecue at the fairgrounds with donations appreciated, followed by the July 4 Chuckwagon Days Rodeo at the Buss Fear Arena. Then it’s back to downtown Big Piney for the street dance at 6 p.m. and fireworks around 10 p.m. shot off from the Marbleton Hill. For more information, go to www.chuckwagondays.com.
The town of Pinedale also plans a community day with the annual picnic from 2-4 p.m. at American Legion Park – bring a side dish, salad or dessert! Visit with friends as the afternoon winds into the Pinedale Fine Arts Council’s free Soundcheck concert at 5 p.m. and then as dusk falls, fireworks firing over the town.
