Forrester receives Farm Bureau scholarship

BIG PINEY – Rachel Forrester, of Big Piney, is the recipient of a $500 college scholarship from the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation (WyFB). She is the daughter of John and Brenda Forrester. She plans to attend the University of Wyoming in the fall, where she will pursue a degree in speech-language pathology.

In high school, Rachel participated in volleyball, basketball and track. She received All-Conference and All-State recognition for her athletic achievements. In addition to being a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council, she has received several academic awards including Spanish Student of the Year, Outstanding English Student and Outstanding Pre-Calculus Student.

Rachel has also been an appreciated member of the Barnyard Bunch 4-H Club, who is always willing to step into leadership positions exemplifying class and responsibility.

“Education of any type is important to our members and funding is not always easy. Our scholarship offerings help bridge that gap and our organization is proud to be able to provide support,” said WyFB President Todd Fornstrom.

Scholarship applications are due March 1 each year and are available at local county Farm Bureau offices or at
