Examiner’s Galbreath named ‘Contributor of the Year’

BIG PINEY — At the May 16 end-of-the-year awards ceremony hosted by the Big Piney High School (BPHS), Sublette Examiner reporter and photographer Robert Galbreath was recognized as BPHS Contributor of the Year. Galbreath, who thought he was there to cover yet another round of accomplishments by local students and athletes, was called onto stage to accept a plaque of his own.
BPHS Principal Jeff Makelky told Sublette Examiner and Pinedale Roundup managing editor Cali O’Hare that Galbreath was "Nominated and selected by the school faculty for his dedication and service to the students and the entire school community,” noting that “in 10 years of teaching in Sublette County School District No. 9,” he had never met anyone as “passionate about highlighting the achievements of south county students.”
O’Hare said, “No one is more deserving of this award than Robert. He cares about the kids he covers in both school districts as if they are his own. He cheers them on in all of their endeavors, celebrates their successes and mourns the tough losses with them.”
“He thoughtfully and carefully crafts his articles to highlight our local students, athletes and young people, knowing that their loved ones will cherish them for years to come,” she added.
“Robert works long hours — late into the evenings and through the weekends — to make sure the achievements of these kiddos are preserved in the public record. And he does this all while covering the happenings of the Sublette County Hospital District, Sublette County School District No. 1, the Town of Pinedale and so much more.”
Please join us in congratulating Robert on this well-deserved honor!
