BIG PINEY – Sublette County School District No. 9 students are always up for a challenge. This summer, pupils at LaBarge and Big Piney elementary schools participated in the summer reading program sponsored by the Wyoming Association of Elementary and Middle School Principals (WAEMSP).

The long hours young people spent with their noses in books were tallied up and the results were announced at the WAEMSP conference in early November.

Readers at LaBarge and Big Piney elementary schools blew the competition out of the water. LaBarge Elementary students took first place in the state for schools in its category. Big Piney Elementary pupils earned second place in the state.

“I am so proud of our readers,” said LaBarge and Big Piney Elementary Principal Amy Bell.
