Community blood draws taking place

Screenings available at discounted prices in Marbleton on Tuesday, April 11, and Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

MARBLETON — Sublette County Public Health announced that a variety of blood screenings would be offered to the public at discounted rates from 6 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, and Wednesday, April 12, at the Southwest Sublette County Pioneers Senior Center, 429 East 1st St., in Marbleton.

The blood chemistry panel is one of the screenings recommended annually by Wyoming Health Fairs. For $45, it includes screenings of the heart, kidney and liver functions with a lipid panel, total cholesterol, HDL (the good stuff), LDL (the bad stuff) and triglycerides, plus electrolyte levels, protein, iron, fasting glucose, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) uric acid and Carbon Dioxide.

Other screenings offered at the upcoming blood draw include an expanded panel that can help identify rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and arthritis associated with autoimmune disorders for $85.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends the Hepatitis C Antibody screening, available for $60, for all adults with no risks born between 1945 and 1965 and those who have injected drugs or were recipients of transfusions or organ transplants prior to 1992.

Total testosterone panels are available for $53 for men and $63 for women.

Vitamin screenings, thyroid panels and tests that screen for celiac disease are also available, along with SAR-CoV-2 Antibody testing and blood type determination — all at discounted prices.

Wyoming Health Fairs recommends fasting for 12 hours prior to having blood drawn, except for individuals with diabetes. Continue to drink water and take medications as normal.

All Wyoming Health Fairs tests are non-diagnostic, intended for wellness purposes only and processed by LabCorp. It is recommended that folks consult with a physician before and after screenings.

Results can be expected online within three to five business days and mailed with seven to 10 business days.

Appointments are recommended but walk-ins are also welcome.
