Calling all volunteers

Continental Divide Trails Coalition plans work day

Friends of

the Bridger-Teton and the Continental Divide

Trail Coalition are joining up for a

free outdoor learning experience and adventure

over Father’s Day weekend.

Volunteers of all ages are invited to

attend a free trail maintenance workshop

on Saturday, June 15, hosted by the Continental

Divide Trail Coalition in Pinedale,

and then on Sunday, June 16, to put the

knowledge to good use on the Continental

Divide Trail from the Green River Lakes

trailhead.

Saturday, national trail professionals

will meet volunteers from 8 a.m. to

noon inside at the Bridger-Teton National

Forest’s Pinedale District Office, 29 E.

Fremont Lake Road., and then present a

demonstration from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Pole

Creek Trailhead.

On Sunday morning, trail stewards and

volunteers can help Friends of the Bridger-

Teton at its newly adopted section of the

trail for some maintenance work. Everyone

will meet at the Green River Lakes

Trailhead to cut brush, lop trees and build

a 25-foot turnpike and small water drainage

structures. Volunteers will work with

the BTNF Pinedale trail crew.

Organizer Sarah Walker said this is a

perfect family get-together for Father’s

Day, with excellent camping options and

easy access. Events are free and people

can attend one or both. Contact Sarah

Walker at [email protected] to register

or for more information.
