Big Piney, Marbleton election filings close

SUBLETTE COUNTY – It’s shaping up to be an interesting Election Day for both Big Piney and Marbleton with a couple of challengers filing by the two towns’ respective deadlines last week.

For the Big Piney Town Council, the two four-year terms now held by Michelle Hymas and Scott Scherbel will be open. Hymas did not file again; Scherbel did as well as two more candidates – Tawnya Miller and Sierra Banks.

In Marbleton, Mayor Jim Robison’s has filed for another four-year term and is being contested by Randy Thompson. Current councilmembers BJ Meador and Mack Bradley’s four-year seats are also opening up. Meador filed again for his but Bradley did not. Karen Wenz is the other councilmember candidate.

Both municipal elections will take place on Tuesday, May 11, with voting planned at the Marbleton Town Hall and the Big Piney Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
