BIg Piney hosts State rodeo

BIG PINEY – The Big Piney high school rodeo team finished up a long season at the Wyoming High School Rodeo Association State Championships at the Sublette County Fairgrounds on April 23 and 24.
Results – April 23
Senior Jaspur Brower placed second in bareback riding, tallying 67 points. He captured sixth place in bull riding.
In barrel racing, sophomore Cedar Stewart came in 14th place at 17.199 seconds. She took eighth place in breakaway roping at 4.290 seconds.
Junior Sharianne Brower took fourth place in light rifle with 247 points. She placed 17th in breakaway roping.
Freshman Kaleb Miller placed fifth in light rifle with 245 points.
In team roping, senior Jade Espenscheid and Cord Herring of Veteran, Wyo., picked up third place at 8.110 seconds. Freshman Cael Espenscheid and Cam Johnson of Buffalo placed 14th with Miller and Cooper Jones of Farson in 23rd.
Results – April 24
Jade Espenscheid and Herring finished second in team roping at 7.54 seconds. Cael Espenscheid and Johnson took third in the event at 7.85 seconds and Miller and Jones placed 12th at 12.98 seconds.
Jaspur Brower placed 13th in bull riding and 12th in bareback riding with a score of 62 points.
Stewart came in 16th place in barrel racing at 17.062 seconds and placed 19th in breakaway roping. Sharianne Brower finished 35th in breakaway roping.
