A three-car pile-up on
Highway 191 north near Forty Rod Road
caused considerable delays on Friday afternoon.
The crash happened in the middle
of the construction zone where crews were
resealing the road. According to Lt. Klief
Guenther of the Wyoming Highway Patrol,
a cement truck driven by David Reed of
Reed’s Construction “did not stop when
he was supposed to” when the pilot car
leading a line of vehicles slowed down in
the construction zone. The cement truck
plowed into a car from Colorado and a
second car carrying a family from Texas.
Several of the occupants of the damaged
passenger cars sustained “minor injuries,”
Guenther said. They were taken to the
Pinedale Clinic for treatment and released
later that day.
Reed was cited for following too close
following the crash.
Guenther added that it is important to be
extra vigilant when driving in a construction
“Give yourself enough space between
vehicles and be cognizant of distracted
driving,” he said.
