BIG PINEY – It was a good week for the Big Piney High School varsity boys basketball team, as it picked up big wins over Kemmerer and Mountain View last weekend at home.

The Punchers took to the court on Friday for a matchup with the visiting Rangers, where Big Piney was able to pull away with an easy 68-25 victory.

Piney head coach Nate Strong said Kemmerer is currently in a rebuilding process and does not currently have the same team as in the past. That said, he noted that it’s a big team and plays hard.

The game allowed Big Piney to try out some different combinations of athletes out on the court and Strong said that helped them build some depth. In addition, the team was able to work on a couple new “wrinkles” it’s added on both its offensive and defensive ends.
