Philip Dale Skiver, 84, passed away on Jan 24.
Phil was born in Hanna, Wyo., on Oct 25, 1932. Raised in Daniel, Wyo., at the Flying V Ranch, Phil lived his entire life as a cowboy.
He joined the U.S. Navy and saw action in the Korean War, before returning home to his cowboy lifestyle. Phil also worked in Nevada and Montana, before eventually settling in Arizona. In April of 1962, he married Diane Lucile Meyer. In April of 1965, they had their first child, son Daniel Philip, and in February 1967, their second child – a daughter Susan Kay.
In September of 1972, Phil moved his family to the Oak Bar Ranch near Nogales, Ariz., where he lived for the next 44 years until his death.
He was preceded in death by Diane, his wife of 33 years.
He is survived by his son Daniel and his wife Melody A., and two grandchildren Savanah Diane and Sidney Ross of Nogales, daughter Susan Siggins and husband Raymond D. of Coolige, Ariz.
His longtime caregiver Connie De La Osa was at his side when he passed. He will surely be missed.
